Mindful Poetry Moments, incubated with The On Being Project, offers a chance to pause and reflect on poetry’s ability to encounter ourselves, the world, and the mystery of each other.
This special collaboration began as a way to provide young students an opportunity to encounter poetry in the course of a normal school day during National Poetry Month and has expanded to reach poetry lovers of all ages.
For our fifth anniversary of Mindful Poetry, we will continue to meet virtually in potent and nourishing hour-long sessions dedicated to meditation, a poem, and writing together.
Join us in October 2023, November 2023, January 2024, and February 2024 for monthly sessions led by poets and friends of the Mindful Poetry Community.
And join us in April 2024 for weekly sessions during National Poetry Month, with poems curated by our 2024 Curator Haleh Liza Gafori. Haleh will select our four poems to study, celebrate and respond to with new poems. And we will produce our fifth-anniversary edition of poems in the summer of 2024 that were written during National Poetry Month.
