True Body Cambodia. A Sweet Return.

Hello! It's Stacy.

I began visiting Cambodia in 2011. I was invited by James and Athena Pond who founded Transitions Global (now Hope for Justice). The first years there, I worked with the strong, resilient young women and staff of the NGO, applying True Body Project concepts and learning each and every minute about how to make our work even more culturally relevant and respectful.

Over the last decade, I began working with additional NGO's and studios to bring workshops, direct services and cultural exchanges while beginning to invite collaborators and guests to join me for a week of deep learning about mind/body/resilience and about Cambodia itself.

This January, post a two-year Pandemic break, we returned. Kami Lerma, True Body Program Manager brought along her good friend, powerhouse Keeshann Jones. Keeshann is a wife, a mother of more than twenty children, and motivational speaker who encourages people to go for their dreams. She is also an artist, creator, published author, producer, and a director.

There, we were joined by Mary Ann Wolfe, my high school bestie who joined our Cambodia trip in 2020 and has since moved to Siem Reap. We began with a weekend workshop at United Yoga Asia where we connected with a wonderful group of women who have become enduring friends. From there, we did our field work with NGO's including Harpswell Foundation, Penh Lenh and EYC, plus spent time in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap to learn about the culture.

Every time I visit, I try to capture the magic of this trip and the people of Cambodia. This year, thanks to the wonderful, watchful eye of Keeshann, we have a series of videos to share with you that speak to the essence of what this True Body experience is all about.

So enjoy the photos above (scroll through) and these fantastic videos (links below) by Keeshann. When you too think "why not?" to a trip to Cambodia next year, please reach out to Kami@TheWell.World and pre-reserve your space for January, 2024.
