Mindful Music for Hospitals & Businesses

Partnership with UC Health Osher Center

In early 2020, The Well collaborated with UC Health's Integrative Medicine Center to bring Mindful Music to patients and caregivers in the Infusion Suite and waiting areas of the Gardner Neuroscience Institute.

Within a week, the healthcare world shifted to pandemic preparedness and staff well-being. So thanks to a few leadership gifts and donations, The Well was able to pivot to provide playlists for employee well-being to UChicago Medicine's Comer Children's and UC Health.

Additionally, we realized that patients were suffering in new ways due to COVID-19 limits on who can visit. Along with UC Health, we pivoted to pilot a Patient Wellness Channel, on in-room televisions or on tablets and devices. Patients can now experience Mindful Music, guided meditations, and other nourishing content from UC Health Integrative Medicine and other community arts partners.

Partnership with Columbus Symphony

Mindful Music for the Work Day

In partnership with the Columbus Symphony, The Well is excited to announce a new addition to our Mindful Music Moments offerings. The idea’s origin is best said by Stephanie Davis Wallace, VP of Advancement at the Columbus Symphony, “The idea began during the onset of the pandemic, one of our major funders—a local law firm in Columbus–was providing support to the Columbus Symphony’s expanded reach to children through the Symphony’s education programs which included making the Mindful Music Moments program more widely available to schools and pre-schools throughout the region, ensuring remote access during lockdown. As mental health and well-being became jeopardized by the stresses of the pandemic, our corporate partner had a brilliant idea to model the program that was being utilized in schools for businesses. It was a creative way to fill a critical need in the business community through music and art.”

Different from Mindful Music in schools, the work day playlist offers one mindfulness prompt with a classical music selection each week. These newly recorded mindfulness prompts are catered towards adults in the workplace and can be replayed as many times as desired during the week.
