Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.
The Well's programs combine best practices in arts and wellness and are designed in partnership with those they serve. How do we create our programs? In partnership with others and especially those we serve.

When something clicks, it sticks with you in a positive way. After years of meditation as prayer, I found The Well’s Monday Morning Meditation. Being virtual, I met so many folks from different parts of the world like Portugal and South Africa. It is also a great way to start the week. Most Mondays at 9:00AM EST. One of the group can bring in a poem or we are lead by Stacy Sims or the staff of The Well starting with a reading, a guided meditation, 10 minutes or so of silence and writing time inspired by the reading. The core of the writing answers the same questions every week:
How can you nourish yourself.
What needs nourishing this week.
Who needs nourishing?
We all briefly share our thoughts & feelings. It is completely voluntary.
This past Monday I shared an original poem of mine written especially for the Well in gratitude for being lovingly embraced by The Well through their Wellspring Fellowship grant and allowing me to facilitate workshops for teens and adults alike. Also a “Well Loved” award this year. I am a poet and poetry workshop facilitator. I encourage anyone to “taste and see” the many offerings or The Well and be so nourished as I have been.
Peace!
A Dream of Whales (dedicated to The Well)
The light in your eyes
Reminds me of air & sky.
A dream of whales bathing me
With clicks & whistles.
Rolling in the waves
Careful not to get beached.
I am stranded by a body
Unwilling to heal or not hurt.
My mind travels to different shores
The speed of which is astounding.
I am passing on to you the mysteries
Of breathing under water and then
To rise above the surface with
A saving release of breath.
I am a coral reef, fragile, floating
In the sand(tears turn to gravel,)
Colors refracted. Liquid rainbows
Telling me to shine like a merchant of mercy.
Whales return to their secrets
And so must I contemplating
A sky through water wondering
How high must I climb to feel
This stillness in the stomach.
In deep water, it is impossible
To kneel.
