Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.
The Well's programs combine best practices in arts and wellness and are designed in partnership with those they serve.
The Well is thrilled to be a grantee of the FY26 GIG Fund: Arts & Wellness–a program of Arts Midwest, which receives support in part from the National Endowment for the Arts. This grant will support the next new music commission called "Healing Harmonies" for The Well's national Mindful Music Moments program.
Healing Harmonies is a new music commission and public healing experience by The Well for its Mindful Music Moments program and the community.
Healing Harmonies will commission 5 Cincinnati-based composer-musicians to create new 3-minute pieces of music and a supplemental education activity inspired by a personally meaningful "healing theme," resulting in a series of original music and accompanying activities to improve mental and emotional well-being.
The new music and supplemental activities will premiere online publicly and be integrated into the 2026-2027 Mindful Music Moments curriculum (available to over 100,000 youth in schools nationwide). Additionally, the new music and activities will be activated during the 2026-2027 school year during in-school workshops with the composers and students.

ABOUT THE WELL / A MINDFUL MOMENT
Providing programs, practices and connection at the intersection of arts and wellness for schools, communities and workplaces.
In different forms, The Well programs have been nourishing the Greater Cincinnati community since 2005. In 2019 we became the non-profit, A Mindful Moment. A Mindful Moment's mission is to improve the mental and emotional well-being, connectedness, and effectiveness of all citizens through arts integration, mindfulness, music, movement, and healing-centered practices.
We'd Love to Hear from You
Many of our programs and practices started because someone reached out and expressed a need. What can we do to support you?
