Mindful Poetry Moments began early for National Poetry Month at Wilson Elementary in Cincinnati, Ohio (also a long-time user of Mindful Music Moments). For Wilson's special "Wellness Wednesday," The Well visited with 90 5th-grade students. We read the poem "Small Kindnesses" by Danusha Laméris, asked students to write their own poem of small kindnesses, and then create a collage of those kindnesses with The Well's Artist-in-Residence Julia Oquera Bianco.
Special thanks to Wilson counselor Jean Bode for coordinating our visit. We couldn't think of a better way to begin a month of poetry writing, connection, and creativity!
