Mindful Music Moments

Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.

Mindful Poetry Gathering - April 22nd, 2026

all tinder is white space
its span a mirror
your mouth around light

—Jake Skeets, “If Fire”

In this gathering, we listened and contemplated the poem "If Fire" by Jake Skeets. The Well's founder and Executive Director Stacy Sims opened our session with a guided meditation and Mindful Poetry Moments 2026 curator Eddie Gonzalez led our exploration of the poem.

PROMPT:

Write a poem about a landscape that is beloved to you and/or your identity.

  • Use the poem to celebrate that landscape with humans mostly decentered
  • Write in a way where the form of the poem exhibits characteristics of that place
