Mindful Music Moments

Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.

CINCINNATI, OH | This September, The Mamas Sing is coming to the new home of Cincinnati-based arts and wellness nonprofit The Well –– right in the heart of Walnut Hills.

A cozy, weekly gathering, The Mamas Sing is designed to nurture the well-being of mothers, female-identifying, and gender-nonconforming caregivers and their little ones. Held Tuesday mornings in our bright and welcoming space on Gilbert Avenue, this sweet circle invites caregivers to come just as they are. Snuggle close to your little ones, sing softly, and leave feeling seen, soothed, and connected.

We know that nothing can soothe a baby like their mother’s voice, and that their Mamas deserve a little TLC too!

Inspired by the evidence-based Singing Mamas® model from the UK, The Mamas Sing program supports maternal wellbeing through the simple, healing act of group singing. Research shows that mothers experiencing postnatal depression find meaningful relief and joy through these gentle song circles, benefiting not just mood but also stress regulation, social connection, and the bond between caregiver and child.

Here in Cincinnati, all mother-figures are welcome to experience The Mamas Sing, led by April Mann, founder of The Cinci Sing and a certified Singing Mamas® International Community Leader. Each session will offer simple songs, rounds and sometimes add harmonies, all taught by ear – no singing experience is needed! This isn’t about performance or perfection; it’s about finding calm in the community. Breastfeeding is welcome, tears are welcome, and sleepy mamas and curious little ones are welcome, too. After singing, we’ll share a warm cup of tea and light snacks, creating space for rest, connection, and care.

The Well's Executive Director, Stacy Sims, says, "The Well works at the intersection of arts and wellness and our signature program is Mindful Music Moments. To be able to host April's wonderful program in our space embodies the very spirit of our work and does so with April's deep commitment to music as sweet medicine."

The Mamas Sing is open to all mothers and female or gender-nonconforming caregivers with babies or young children. Sessions begin soon on Tuesday mornings at The Well in Walnut Hills.
