Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.
The Well's programs combine best practices in arts and wellness and are designed in partnership with those they serve.
From Bryce Kessler–
Last week, I attended the League of American Orchestras conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over 1,000 representatives of orchestras, composers, artists, and arts administrators from around the country gathered to learn and exchange ideas about how we can use music to inspire, heal, and transform our communities.
It was so great to see some of our Mindful Music Moments partners from Canton Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, and Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, and to hear inspiring keynotes from Marin Alsop and Renée Fleming on the urgency for music to be a driving force for health, well-being, and social change during times of great crisis and great opportunity.
Conferences like these continue to inspire me both personally and professionally and I can't wait to grow the impact of The Well to nurture 'a well world' through music and the arts.
Plus I got to hear some amazing performances by the Utah Youth Symphony performing music by Quinn Mason and Clarice Assad, and the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera with Thierry Fischer and violinist Clara-Jumi Kang performing Revueltas, Korngold, Ortiz, and Varèse.
Conductor Marin Alsop received the League's Gold Baton Award at the Opening Session.
Utah Youth Symphony performed two contemporary works by Quinn Mason and Clarice Assad.
Renée Fleming gave the keynote address on the powerful connection between music and health.
Thierry Fischer conducts the Utah Symphony.
