Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.
The Well's programs combine best practices in arts and wellness and are designed in partnership with those they serve. How do we create our programs? In partnership with others and especially those we serve.

Our hearts are brimming to receive over 120 letters and drawings in the mail from Incline Elementary in Washoe County. After piloting Mindful Music Moments in Las Vegas and Nevada schools, it's powerful to hear the day-to-day impact our program has on both students and educators during a chaotic time for schools. Read the transcript below of the teacher's heartfelt letter and some of our favorite letters and pictures from students.

Dear MMM,
My name is Ms. R and I'm the music teacher at Incline Elementary in Incline Village. I use [MMM] in nearly all of my music classes almost every day and I have seen first-hand the positive effects it has on our students at IES as well as myself.
I wasn't sure what to expect trying the program this year, but the results have been invaluable. Many of my students look forward to this part of our class and are sad when we don't have time to do it. They really enjoy the different types of music as well as the physical effect it has on them.
Students who are constantly disruptive, hyperactive, or on edge instantly calm their bodies down when I put on MMM. For many, it's the only time in class that they are successful because they can focus on their breath. I have seen students go from full body crazy to total stillness very quickly and it's beautiful to watch. It's also amazing when I see an entire class shift to calmness. I have received many compliments from staff members wondering how I can get them so quiet when they come to pick them up. I tell them it's MMM.
Not only has MMM had a great impact on student behaviors, musical learning, and bodily awareness, but it has also helped me to regulate my emotions and maintain better classroom management as a teacher. If I feel the class getting a little too excited, I use MMM as a tool to calm the students down. This gives me time to regroup, have a short meditation, and be ready to continue teaching. I love it because I get to do it with the students rather than just monitoring them.
Again, thank you so much for your generosity. It has had a huge impact on our students at Incline Elementary, and I am looking forward to implementing MMM again next year and hope it continues every year because it is so valuable. Thank you so much.
