Mindful Poetry Gathering- April 24, 2024

A recipe for a blessing.

Thank you to all who attended our final Mindful Poetry Gathering of National Poetry Month 2024!

We listened and contemplated the poem "A Blessing" by Samyak Shertok. Ta.Ma.R.A. Belinda –a crown energy guide and artist– opened our session with a beautiful meditation. And the poet Samyak Shertok –a student and teacher of poetry– facilitated our gentle exploration of the poem and writing time.

Writing Prompt: Meditate on a small act of kindness done to you by a loved one or a stranger. It could be something simple, perhaps even something routinely done. Describe the act as deeply as you can; focusing especially on sensory details. Let each detail guide you to the next detail, and see where it leads you.
Optional: If possible, consider including a direct quote from the person who performed the act of kindness.

Muffins she brings muffins because I fell- my back impaled on a metal post- muffins flaky, brown, crumbly with pineapple jewels nesting on my tongue which is awaiting absolution.

We'd Love to Hear from You
