Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.
The Well's programs combine best practices in arts and wellness and are designed in partnership with those they serve. How do we create our programs? In partnership with others and especially those we serve.

A beautiful reminder of self-love.
Thank you to all who attended our first Mindful Poetry Gathering of the season! We listened and contemplated the poem "Someday I'll Love Ocean Vuong" by Ocean Vuong. Finn Menzies opened our meditative practice by asking:
How does your body know that it belongs here on earth?
And/or how does your body know it belongs to you?
Followed by a body scan meditation, focusing on the elements of water, wind, fire, and earth.
Maureen P. Medina facilitated our exploration of Vuong with the writing prompt:
Start with the title: “Someday, I’ll Love *Your Name*”
In your poem, incorporate 1-3 things that influence your idea of self-love. (memories, conflicts, healings, experiences, etc.)
And if it feels right, address yourself by name when using the imperative voice (second-person POV).

Someday, I Will Love Bryce
by Bryce Kessler
Bryce, come closer
And listen.
Do not be afraid
Of yourself.
You have come so far
That now you cannot even see
Where you started.
But looking back
Isn't as simple as
Turning your head.
Look at the way
the
road
winds.
Curving around risk.
Taking scenic detours.
Shortcuts through a dark cave.
The path you took
Is impossible to retrace
because you made it up.
Unique, new, aquarian.
Nothing can compare.
Bryce, do not compare.
Someday I will Love Holly Jo Brians Ragusa
BY Holly brians ragusa
Holly Jo, stop hiding
On the bus, in bed, on the page and in your dreams
a world waits for you and your middle name
and even your high maintenance nonhyphenated last name
along with all the other complexities you will bring to this living.
Parents rarely are who you’ll want them to be and sometimes more than you’ll know you need.
Fear not the sour divisions of love and loyalty Holly
Those slices will sweeten after you’ve had your way with those lemons
Steer clear of hate, that fowl friend won’t be with you when the storm comes
Won’t stay to clean up after the tempest fades
Seek life in all those lost, dance with the memories of your demons and death
Dads and fathers and mothers and others and all the ones that led you to your one
That sweeps up his mess and yours
Here with his brush, and yours Holly,
paint a nest you can recreate and reimagine as your creativity demands
We'd Love to Hear from You
