Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.
The Well's programs combine best practices in arts and wellness and are designed in partnership with those they serve. How do we create our programs? In partnership with others and especially those we serve.

Sound Artist/Musician Jennifer Howd (collaborator on the very popular Field Recordings including Fiona's Lullaby), returns to The Well to work on a special commission for Mindful Music Moments.
In October 2022, The Well launched Neighborhood Songlines, a community-oriented sound art project led by Jenn Howd based in two Cincinnati neighborhoods. Jenn & The Well hosted two sound-collecting events, asking the favorite sounds of households and businesses— the clanking of bottles in The Gaslight Cafe, the coos of mourning doves by Wavepool Art Gallery, the twinkling of wind chimes on a front porch, children laughing, ocean waves, and much more.
Jenn used these sounds to create two tracks of new music for The Well’s national Mindful Music Moments program–bringing daily mindfulness and music into 300+ schools nationwide. LISTEN HERE.
Jenn also created interactive SonicMaps, which use your phone’s GPS to play the favorite sounds we collected as you stroll through the Cincinnati neighborhood. You can also access and interact with the SonicMap from home using the links below.
