Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.
The Well's programs combine best practices in arts and wellness and are designed in partnership with those they serve.
Jayson Drew’s project ‘Palette Flowers’ is a light installation designed to look like a flower vase. Early in the summer, the group sent out a survey asking people about their connections with the Ohio River. Jayson was inspired by the responses to the question "What does the Ohio River mean to you?". He observed key words/themes from the responses and chose flowers that grow during the time of the festival based off them: Anemone (anticipation and beauty), Cosmos (peace), black rose (death).
Jayson hopes that the take away from this project will be that people will have a fun experience and get to witness something cool.
Jayson Drew is a senior in high school. This summer is his first year working with ArtWorks and The Well. he enjoys reading and drawing. His most prominent memories involving the river are visiting it with his uncle. A fun fact about Jayson is that he has two first names.
