Imagine an entire school – students, teachers, and administrators – taking time each morning to turn inward together, and listen to a brief mindfulness prompt and world-class music.
The Well's programs combine best practices in arts and wellness and are designed in partnership with those they serve.
Social Healing Workshop with Manuel (Eddie) Gonzalez
This workshop is an invitation for those seeking to bring care to a hurting world — everyday leaders and healers tending to the needs of their communities and homelands. Together, we will gather in a spirit of retreat and renewal, outside the usual pressures of linear time, to pause and reconnect with what makes us come alive. And joining in contemplative and creative practices, we’ll explore how our flourishing is woven into a wider web of beings, human and more-than-human, and tend the reciprocal threads of care that sustain us and the work we feel called to.
Led by chaplain, journalist, educator, and our Mindful Poetry Moments 2026 Curator Manuel (Eddie) Gonzalez.
Bio:
Manuel (Eddie) Gonzalez works at the intersections of spiritual care, community engagement, digital media, and creative expression. With a background in journalism and creative writing, he became a hospice chaplain in 2009, and over the last sixteen years has worked within healthcare and national nonprofits - most recently at On Being and StoryCorps - to create meaningful spaces for storytelling, reflective dialogue, and compassionate listening. He has a deep interest in the relationship between inner and outer life and how the stories we tell can have profound impacts on ourselves, each other, and the world around us. He is currently a MOTH Fellow at NYU's More-Than-Human Life Program, a senior Fellow at CoGenerate, and serves on the board of the podcast, Threshold. He finds inspiration and solace in the arts, the outdoors, and time spent with loved ones.
