An Adventure into Mindfulness Meditation

This May, join us for a 4-week mindfulness meditation series in person at The Well in Cincinnati, as we explore what meditation teaches us about being human - about resistance and over-thinking, about humor and compassion, about healing stuck emotions and expanding stuck views. All this and more happens when we sit and get quiet. It also happens when we sit and don’t get quiet. So, all busy brains and wiggly bodies welcome!
Brooke Thomas, a trained mindfulness meditation teacher and True Body Project facilitator, will guide this adventure into what mindfulness is (and what it is not!) by exploring a range of practices (seated and walking meditation, guided movement, loving-kindness and self-compassion), through guidance that is relatable, trauma-informed, and rooted in care.
The real teacher is meditation itself, which has a way of organizing the nervous system, connecting us to ourselves, each other, and our world. The teacher is also the community. Through sharing and discussion, we will learn from each other’s experience, insights, and challenges. As with all good journeys, there will be highs and lows, joys and difficulties. Meditation allows us to be with it all. So, let’s practice being human together!
Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, ALL humans are welcome! The goal of this adventure is for everyone to return home with an understanding of what mindfulness meditation is, a clear sense of why they meditate, and a clear feeling for their own strange & beautiful practice.
Participants should plan to attend all 4 in-person sessions. Cultivating a routine and rhythm of practice sustains it.
Each Sunday in May (May 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th), 10-11:30am at The Well. In person.
This series is free with registration. Donations are accepted and appreciated. Space is limited to 12 participants.
